Band Camp Uniform Information

We must have an accurate height and weight information in order to fit your uniform / costume. Note these statistics when you complete the band camp confirmation form. The uniform check out schedule is noted below and on the Band Camp schedule. Each individual on the final roster will be assigned a specific time to report for a fitting.

No uniforms will be issued after Sunday, August 25. DO NOT MISS YOUR FITTING APPOINTMENT! Contact the Band Office prior to August 1 if you have a conflict with the uniform check out schedule below. Include your full name, instrument or section, and the nature of your conflict. We will not give anyone a uniform check out appointment outside the scheduled dates. However, we will work with you on the specific time of your appointment. You have plenty of time to adjust your work schedule to accommodate uniform check out.

Wear shorts and a t-shirt that will fit under the uniform for your uniform fitting appointment. Color guard members will receive instructions at rehearsal regarding appropriate uniform check out apparel.

Uniform check out will take place in rooms 31 and 32 in the 501 Building.

PLEASE NOTE: Unnatural hair color is not permitted in the Cornhusker Marching Band.

BRING THESE ITEMS TO UNIFORM CHECK OUT

  • Wear shorts and a t-shirt to your fitting appointment. There are no dressing rooms, but there are small restrooms available!
  • Brass, woodwind and percussion players must have their two steel band hangers.
  • Color Guard members must have two plastic hangers or costume hangers.
  • Band or guard shoes or something similar
  • Battery percussion players must bring their harness.
  • Two wire hangers with pant bar and personal suit or garment bag to transport the uniform items that need alteration. The band suit bags will be used to transport uniform items that need alteration.

UNIFORM SUIT BAGS

The band program provides a light-weight suit bag that is to be used for game day and for travel when the uniforms are transported in the band truck. The suit bags are issued at check-out and are to be considered part of the uniform. They must be returned at the end of the season. The suit bags are color coded by section making it easier to find your uniform when the truck is unloaded. You may use your own garment bag during the season for home game days, if you wish.

KEEPING TRACK OF YOUR UNIFORM

Write down and memorize the inventory number for each of your uniform items. It is the marching band member's responsibility to keep track of each item. You will be charged for the replacement cost of any lost or damaged item. It is also a good practice to write your name inside of your marching shoes.

YOUR UNIFORM IS TO BE STORED HANGING IN A CLOSET. DO NOT STORE YOUR UNIFORM IN YOUR INSTRUMENT LOCKER OR THE TRUNK OF YOUR CAR!
